Getting There

You will be expected to organise your own way to the venue in Delft. We have put some suggestions together here and encourage working with other participants to travel together. The exact location is here and is close to the Delft university campus.

Here are our ideas for how to get there, with rough return prices where possible:

  • Flight to Rotterdam, you can then get a direct (<20min) bus to the site. However flights to Rotterdam can be expensive.
  • Flight to Eindhoven (cheap options from Stansted) and then catch a bus into Eindhoven (<£5) then an intercity trains to Delft (~£40). You can then get a bus from the station to the uni campus (<£5).
  • Flight to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport from various locations in the UK. You can get an intercity train from the airport to Delft (~£20) and the Sprinter bus to the uni campus (<£5).
  • Ferry to Amsterdam from Hull, then get the intercity train (~£20) and sprinter bus (<£5). You can share cabins on the ferry for group travel.
  • If you're in for the long haul you may be able to get buses to European destinations like Brussels and then connect with European train services. Check out FlexBus or other providers.

If you find any cheap routes please let us know. We'd recommend trying flights from several airports you can get to easily or cheaply. In looking we've found budget flights from several small UK airports for around £80 and certain routes under £50 (e.g. STN-EIN) . You are also able to by tickets for Dutch national rail (like intercity) through TheTrainLine, tickets are often quite cheap and if you're under 26 there are youth tickets. Lots of the savings can be made in UK travel and flights as transport is quite cheap once over there. Also check out sites like Rome2Rio.
